Built as a devotion to the Creator, the chapel offers the serenity of a peaceful nature and the mystical beauty of the gratitute and love offered to Creator. It is opened for private prayers by individuals as well as for weddings and meetings of a religious nature.
The Serenity Chapel features a dome on top of a cross perched on still water with open altar and seating. The architecture was inspired by Gotenburg Cathedral in Sweden, chapel of St. Maria in Solo and over-water wedding chapels in the Carabbean. Black stairs from two sides lead into the chapel entrance. Two steps further inside, the black floor of the cross-shaped altar meets four corinthian golden pillars with circling lines supporting the dome. Roman lines, florals ornaments and a golden cross from Sendang Sono adorned the dome. Buried under the altar center is holy water from Solo and the blessed cross of St. Benedictine, the patron saint of protection. A marble piece inscribed with the symbolic name of the chapel was placed under at the altar center.
